ANTONIO VALERO, A FEARLESS UNCLE

As an avid adventurer, Antonio Valero has always dreamed of becoming an all-time traveller since as far back as he can remember. His love for exploring new places to discover started at a young age, raised in a strict family made him awaken interest in new things. When he was eight years old, he went alone on a bus with no particular destination in mind and he ended up founding a shopping centre outside his neighbourhood. Although he was happy at the moment, his parents weren’t that happy with their son since they were very severe with him. Anyway, he kept developing his curiosity without taking into account his parents.

At school, he was the naughty boy of the class who didn’t pay much attention and always wanted to go outside whenever he could, especially in high school. Eventually, he dropped out to go somewhere where he hadn’t been to before. In 2003, he decided to take a rucksack and become a backpacker for an indeterminate time. Nowadays, he is a well-known entrepreneur who hasn’t lost his passion for travelling and he does it whenever he cans. 

Currently, this adventurous and brave man is my uncle and I live a very intense time whenever I am with him. Although we have only travelled together once, it has been my favourite trip ever because he makes things to be worth it. I remember when I was eleven and I travelled for the first time with him and my aunt to Fuerteventura (Canarias). We took a 4x4 for rent and we ended up doing mountain climbing above the sea. It was so scary. Moreover, the next day he said he had a surprise for me but I could only see it if I only bandaged my eyes until we get in the place. I was frightened at first, but I was getting excited during the trip as we got there. When we arrived there I remember the first thing I could tell is that we were walking on sand and there was no wind. I took the clothing off of my eyes and I saw three camels standing there. I could never have imagined something like that. I was completely shocked. Since that moment, I didn’t know what else I could expect from him, in a good way.

I consider him my role model and the person who I look up the most. He has achieved so many things just doing what he liked to and putting the effort into it. I want to become a person that lives his best life, just as my uncle.
